Welcome To Soudley School
We are a caring and successful primary school in the beautiful village of Soudley in the Forest of Dean.
We promote a safe, happy and stimulating learning environment, where expectations are high and our children take pride in their achievements. We have exceptional teaching staff and our recent Ofsted inspection said that outcomes for pupils are "outstanding."
Underpinning everything we do is the sense of care, trust and responsibility that we feel are necessary for all children to succeed. People that visit always comment on the friendly atmosphere, and we are very proud of this.
The school dates back to 1875 and had been extended and refurbished over the years. Our buildings are set in extensive grounds in the heart of the village. Within the school there are 3 classrooms, a library/ SEN room and hall. In addition to the indoor learning environment, we have a large playground and playing field which includes an activity trim-trail, the fantastic resource of a woodland circle in forest adjacent to the school field (which is used throughout the year groups to enhance learning opportunities) and an enclosed outdoor area for infant pupils linked to their classroom.
There are three teachers and four learning support workers that work together with the governors, parents and community in the teaching and learning of our pupils. Soudley School is also a committed NUT FREE school.
